About the author

Yeeshan Yang comes from a migratory family background. She spent her childhood years in Maoist China, where she saw her Indonesian-Chinese father politically persecuted as a spy; grew up in Hong Kong; studied Japanese in Tokyo; experienced migrant life again in Australia; then returned to Hong Kong. She has worked in journalism, filmmaking and publishing while conducting anthropological research.

The intense and versatile Francis Ng Chun-yu (吳鎮宇) is regarded as one of Hong Kong’s most talented actors. His compelling on-screen persona has won him four Best Actor awards from the Hong Kong Film Critics Society and the Golden Horse Film Festival. Francis also channels his creative passions into theatre, film directing and writing.
