In the 1980s, Bruce Aitken became one of the world’s most successful money launderers. What started innocently enough, by answering an ad in the newspaper, turned into a globe-trotting lifestyle of moving money – huge sums of money – for some of the world’s most notorious and shadiest characters. From the jungles of Vietnam to the money capitals of the world, Bruce moved in circles where people would unquestioningly hand over millions of dollars to him on a handshake, to be deposited into Swiss bank accounts.

He is the author of The Cleaner: The true story of one of the world’s most successful money launderers.

Last month, Bruce spoke about his experiences in an entertaining and illuminating event at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club in Hong Kong. You can watch his 45-minute talk here: https://www.fcchk.org/event/club-lunch-money-laundering-catch-me-if-you-can/
